It ain't cheap but for $150 you get an awful lot of bang for your buck. ![]() If you're in the market for a really good colour grading tool, I highly recommend Color Finale Pro. I have no idea what kind of wizardry Color Trix have worked under the hood but this performance boost is seriously impressive and is going to be a huge timesaver in post for me. ![]() On the old machine, I'd have to wait a couple of minutes for each render to complete but now it renders like a bat out of hell. I then started working on the project: generally I'll leave background rendering off, grade a batch of shots and then hit render-lather, rinse, repeat until finished. I repeated the same test on the new computer. I then set up a little test on the old machine: I took a single 14 minute video, did a simple 1-light grade and rendered it. Running Geekbench 5 and Cinebench R23 on the two machines gave an average speed improvement a little under three times faster-not bad at all. I've got a pretty much maxed out M1 mini-16GB/1TB SSD-to replace my venerable but ageing 2012 mini (same basic spec). The first thing I noticed was that is was fast-surprisingly fast in fact. ![]() A couple of weeks ago, my favourite grading plugin finally got upgraded for M1, so I thought I'd take it for a spin and regrade an old project I did a couple of years ago.
